Each volume also contains engravings and charts relating to naval engagements and important harbours around the world. Volume 31, published in 1814 at the end of the Napoleonic wars, contains state papers describing the terms of the peace treaty signed between Britain and the restored Bourbon monarchy. Discussions concerning naval pay and the planned reduction of the navy, a list of British fleets, ships and their commanders as of 1814 and a biography of Sir George Young are also included.
