I'm a huge DRoP fan, and I have been for years. Unfortunately, Gigi's addition to the universe didn't do it for me. The characters didn't -feel- like their Anne McCaffrey written counterparts, and there were some glaring world inconsistencies that really pulled me out of it - one of the biggest examples of this was Gigi referring to runnerbeasts as -6- legged creatures. Anne spent multiple books emphasizing that runners were plain ol' horses from Earth. As a whole, I wanted to like it, because I always want more Pern, but this just didn't do it for me. It felt like poorly done fanfiction.
