Written by former member of the House of Representatives Jason Chaffetz, Power Grab describes the various ways in which the Democratic Party seeks to attain and maintain power. These include the weaponization of charities, implementation of authoritarian measures, creating false narratives, pursuing outcome-driven investigations, and many other approaches used to silence Republicans and to ensure that Democrats retain as much power as possible. Facilitating voter fraud and weakening election security are two specific measures Democrats use to protect The Swamp. Chaffetz capable develops two themes in this highly informative and easily read book : the left's deliberate substitution of political theatre in place of any real policy agenda and the use of authoritarian tactics to defeat perceived authoritarianism. Chaffetz concludes his book with the following solutions: return to the Constitution, preserve our electoral system, restore checks and balances to prevent abuse, and protect the Bill of Rights. In closing, however, I think it is safe to say that in the Democratic Party's quest for power, truth, our Constitution, and the guaranteed freedoms in the Bill of Rights are the first casualties.
