I often find myself in this exact situation, staring at the ceiling, wide awake at three in the morning. I desperately want to sleep, but there are thoughts and gut-feelings that are preventing me from getting rest. I count the hours, the minutes, the seconds of sleep that I lose until I have no more time left. When there is nowhere left to turn, I turn to writing. Over my teenage years, I have written countless poems in an attempt to articulate what is going through my head. I have taken a fraction of the poems I have written, refined them, and am now comfortable releasing them to the public. My goal is to raise questions for others and find peace with myself.
