The story is five thumbs up and keeps you on the edge of your seat; this is volume one of a two part set, volume one ends in 1905 mid-way through the expedition.
HOWEVER, the print quality is abominable:
The binding is good and the paper weight is middle grade, but none of the pictures are legible, they are not even grainy. It looks like they were digitally scanned but most of the frames were omitted. Very disappointing as there are a number of photographs both of the expedition members, Inuit tribesmen, and the landscape and GJOAhaven, but none of them have clear, discernible images.
This is a 2022 printing, I give it a three thumbs because of this issue.
Advise trying to find an earlier edition, but check with the seller first!!
