There are too many books about Robert Johnson that essentially cannibalize one another. Peter Guralnick's slim little volume seems to have said more than the half dozen subsequent and larger books.
This one is overly complimenary towards Steve LaVere, who is a controversial figure, basically a hustler who obtained the rights to Johnson's publishing.
