"Acquisition Syndrome" tells the story when a simple country doctor is squeezed by outside forces to put profit before the health of his patients. It is a follow up of "The Mandolin Case" released in 2010. Dr. Tommy Bibey grew up making house calls with his country doctor father. He later attended Lake Forest University and Sandhills Medical School where he picked up first the guitar and then the mandolin. He returned to Harvey County and opened a small clinic as a country doctor. Many evenings he could be heard playing the mandolin for patients in his office or if necessary the Hospital. More than one patient has asked him to play at their funeral. He always viewed medicine and bluegrass music as the two healing arts of the body and soul. Over the years he became stressed when he saw the medical profession move to a need for profit and away from a focus on healing. He starts every morning playing his mandolin, then begins to write to relieve the stress. Soon "The Mandolin Case" was born and now "Acquisition Syndrome" which lays bare the pressures a private practice doctor faces every day. Your personal doctor could have written it. He will want to read it as it says what he has been screaming for years about the medical profession.
