After facing into that question for thirty years, I have to say I know much more about my subjective version of the world than any "objective," conceptual version I piece together from scraps I pick up almost at random, and mercilessly edit to suit my personal convenience and liking. Quite simply, I do not see the landscape in front of me so much as the inner landscape rendered from my personal point of view. That is what this book is about, the world as I make it happen inside my conscious mind.
