Size: 8x5x1; 1984 signed and inscribed first edition, Seamount Publications (Pacific Palisades, California), 6 x 8 7/8 inches tall tan buckram cloth hardcover in publisher's unclipped dust jacket, brown lettering to spine, illustrated with black-and-white photographs, 273 pp. Very slight soiling and rubbing to covers. Mild foxing to page edges. Nicely inscribed and signed by the author on the blank front free-endpaper. Otherwise, a very good copy-clean, bright and unmarked-in a slightly to moderately soiled, chipped and edgeworn dust jacket which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. ~RR~ [2.0P] Born in Ohio, the author, Martha French Patterson (1915-2014), came to Pacific Palisades, California in 1925, via Model T Ford, with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Smith French. She is a graduate of the Palisades Elementary School, University High School, and UCLA. This pioneer resident has chronicled the experiences of her family on a unique piece of land in the center of Pacific Palisades. When she died in 2014, at the age of 99, she was still living in upper Potrero Canyon, one of the longest standing residents of the community.
