Begun as a revised, enlarged version of Everett and Addle Miller's two books on New Martinsville, author James Measell gave this book his personal stamp, especially in his lively way of sharing in-depth research on this important West Virginia company. Highlights include coverage of Webb's Muranese art glass (so-called "Peachblow"), pattern glass (including ruby-stained), and many previously unattributed colors and novelty items from the 1920s-30s, as well as animals and other figural pieces. This work also offers new information on Depression-era products. In all, more than 500 items are pictured in full color. In addition, there are countless black and white photos, ad reprints, and other materials to illustrate the company's story. A subject index and value guide are included in the book.
