Great Reference Tool
While the Catechism is not a book to read from front to back, it is a great reference tool for all those who have questions about the Catholic Church. While the information is presented in a logical order, the index is very complete and the best way to find information. The information is presented in the following manner: a statement is made about the beliefs of the Catholic Church, followed by paragraphs explaining the meaning of the statement and backing up the statement with quotes from the Bible and the Early Church Fathers. Those who want a more readable version might try the Compendium to the Catechism of the Catholic Church is condensed and in "Question and Answer" format.

Every Catholic home should have one
Every Catholic home should have a Catechism. It is fact that to be fully Catholic you must agree with all the precepts of the Catholic Church. In order to agree we must know what the Church teaches and that is where the Catechism comes in. It is a wonderful reference book, however most Catholic should have a basic knowledge of what it contains in order to practice the Faith in all its fullness.
