Seller's Description:
As New in As New jacket. Book. Signed by Author(s) A real nice clean unmarked 332 page first edition hardcover. Signed on title page by author. Has a nice black & white historical photo section. Livestock markets developed around methods of transportation and buyer demand. The animals were driven on the hoof over the trails to the city market squares. Later, came water transport over rivers and canals. Railroads brought the greatest growth in stockyards, then highways-trucks. The whole story of Fort Worth Stockyards, which is pretty much the same as all the stockyards in development.
