Very Good in Near Fine jacket. 220pp, oblong quarto, hc w/jacket in mylar, tight binding with the slightest of leans when laid flat, top of page block has a 1mm gap between backstrip, clean red boards with sharp corners and bright gilt spine titles, clean and colorful throughout, jacket is clean and bright with vibrant color, there are two small scratches to the front of the mylar but these have not extended to the jacket, slight wear to the edges of the flaps, a beautiful copy of a desirable book. first Galahad edition.

Read The Hobbit back in 6th grade as required reading, I remember loving it so much as I was a LotR fans and watched the movies as a child. Now that I'm 21 I wanted to reread it and the collector edition one was one of the ones I purchased and wanted to keep in my collection.

...and back, again!
I first read The Hobbit (& the trilogy) in 1968 when in 8th grade.
I re-read The Hobbit in 1979 and again was completely captivated by the story.
Again, I read The Hobbit in 1993 and again the same response.
And so, in this 2011 I read AGAIN The Hobbit and was completely delighted that I STILL Love the Story!!
A well-worth read. A well-worth investment to buy a copy--new or used or collectable.
A well-worth RE-READ as well!

I am very pleased with this book! It is a timless classic that i enjoyed as a teen and was fortunate to read it as an adult. If u love being pulled into a story, then you will enjoy what Tolkien has to offer.
