I bought this book after seeing it recommended in a gay newsletter. First of all this book can appeal to anyone gay or straight. It is an outstanding exploration of spirituality as seen through many traditions and history. It has a focus on religious tolerance toward gays and gay spiritual leadership throughout history, yet its message of developing spiritually to become a whole person is applicable to all people. The author's personal experience with the United Religions Initiative gives one hope that the future will be ripe with tolerance for homosexuals and perhaps a growing love for all people regardless of differences. Most of all, this book motivates spiritual exploration for the benefit of oneself and others.
