I think this is a great book on the specific subject of hell. The book doesn't really deal much with heaven, although the author does have a very short chapter in which he discusses everlasting life. However, most of the book is a defense of the biblical doctrine of hell against all comers, whether they be Jehovah's Witnesses, Seventh-day Adventists, occultists, etc.
The late cult expert, Dr. Walter Martin, endorsed the book and wrote the Foreward to it; and the late Roger Nicole wrote the book's Preface. The book's value is further enhanced byScripture indices and a subject index.
Although this book is short, it is a very scholarly, yet readable, comprehensive defense of the biblical doctrine of eternal punishment of unbelievers. I have given several copies of this book to people, because of its usefulness on this subject. I highly recommend it.

a one-stop resource
Considering what confusion there is regarding what happens after death, due to so many conflicting religions + pseudo-Christian cultic teachings, this is a breath of fresh air. The author has certainly put his hours in and it is a very good condensation of conservative Christian doctrine. I have wanted something like this for years, as a busy Bible teacher & minister. What I had discovered myself + read in several books is all here in one handy volume.
I am about 40% of my way through it and my only disagreement is that he fails to draw a (to me) sufficiently clear distinction between the human soul and the human spirit. Whilst he does an excellent job on the soul, he seems to shrink back from exploring what the New Testament says about "Dividing asunder soul and spirit" and "Your whole spirit and soul and body".
This is puzzling, since he freely admits that definitions were rather hazy earlier in the Bible, with greater and greater light dawning progressively as time went on. To me, at least, it seems that Paul + the writer of the book of Hebrews DO take pains to reveal that the 2 are not synonimous.
However, this is a minor point and none of us can be overly dogmatic on it. (Personally I would have been more bold on this point).
Otherwise, full marks and this is one volume which will stay in my library as a valued resource.
