While there are many biographies of George Washington including the multi-volume masterpiece by Freeman, it has always been difficult to capture the man and separate him from the times alone. Ferling's biography does it the best, in my opinion as a life long student of Revolutionary America. It is well written, scrupulous in its research, and sound in its judgments. Ferling is an accomplished historian and well worth your time in reading his books.
