Black Country Boy
Archie tells the story of his own upbringing in a Black Country town. Old heavy industry exists amongst the derelict spoil heaps and unexpected rural connections. People are so recognisable, he is an incisive critic and judge of those around him but with a deep love for his environment. A good knowledge of many trades is revealed through the eyes of a boy who can't wait to become a man in a real man's world.
