I first read LEFT BEHIND when it first came out.
I believe that was in 1985, give or take several years. And I have read it at least 3 times since then. I like the series so much I have given several of the books to my friends. The story line seems to hold true to the Bible account of the end time. The characters are all very believable. And the main characters of Rayford Steel, his 20 year old daughter Chloe, Buck Williams and the flight attendant Hattie Durham are all extremely likeable and believable. The kind of folks you would be friends with. The circumstance that the authors lead you through make the book a very quick read. Folks have said that they have read the book all the way through in one sitting. It took me a little longer because I am not that fast of a reader. I have read all of the Left Behind books and have thoroughly enjoyed everyone of them. I did read THE GLOROUS APPEARING 5 times. And I am sure I will read it again real soon. The story of Jesus' returning to establish His kingdom on Earth is told very expertly and with great authority by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. They truly love the Lord. I am so thankful that they wrote this series. I am sure that many people have accepted Jesus as their Lord because of these books. I highly recommend that you buy the book and after you read it give it to an "unsaved" friend. They will thank you for it.

Fast Read
Left Behind is a fast paced storyline. It smoothly transitions from this book into the next. The only thing I noted in this series that I thought detracted from the whole story is that parts of each preceding text are included in the next novel. It is a little bit redundant. But then, I am reading them in sequence and one right after the other. but it is almost a believable tale. I like this!
