The story opens when Kenna Dunne is thirteen years of age and accidentally witnesses her father's murder before she is knocked out. From that day on, she is troubled by nightmares but always awakens before she discovers the murderer. Family friend Rhys Canning prominently appears in her dreams/nightmares and Kenna believes he's the killer and grows to hate him.
Kenna and Rhys meet again 10 years later. Kenna is starting to remember more of her nightmare and someone wants to silence her. Several attempts are made on her life; Rhys again rescues Kenna, but she's convinced he killed her father.
When the accidents continue to escalate, Rhys takes it upon himself to remove Kenna before she's killed. This book has lots of action and a mystery. Some of the plot points are a bit peculiar and tying up the story calls for a strange resolution. If this had been anyone other than Jo Goodman
