I love most of Dick Francis's books, but this one is special. The plot really thickens and makes you think to figure out who is the bad guy. I loved the friendship through danger theme, and the women characters are especially likeable and creatively designed. Couldn't put it down!

Entertaining mystery
As usual Dick Francis has your attention from the first page. This one is no exception. A painter of racehorses goes to visit his cousin and walks into a sad scene of murder and mayhem. From there on in an effort to find out why the main character goes far afield to track down clues. Along the way he knows and meets several other interesting characters which all converge on a very satisfying conclusion. The travel descriptions of Australia and the personalities of the people involved completely held my interest to the end.
