Seller's Description:
As New in Fine jacket. Folio-over 12-15" tall. pp. 220. Book as new and unread, dust jacket has some yellowing of white edging around a reproduction of Detail of 'One Day Fever' (1986). Some faint yellowing from age around edges of contents pages. Large square book (12.25" x 13"). The first monograph devoted to New York-based painter Ross Bleckner, the book was published to mark a mid-career retrospective organized by the Guggenheim Museum. It includes the first major scholarly appreciation of the artist's work, by Lisa Dennison and Thomas Crow. Lavishly illustrated throughout, in black and white, and full colour, the book captures the beauty and presence of Blecker's paintings through oversized, vividly realised reproductions. The critic Simon Watney also illuminates the many ways in which Bleckner came to the forefront of artists respronding to the AIDS crisis of the '80s and '90s. This is a very large and heavy book which will require extra postage, especially outside the UK.
