Otherwise pristine. Illustrated throughout, with many full page plates, all in full colour. Stan Herd, himself brought up on a farm in the mid-West before heading to the city to become an artist, began these enormous artworks in fields of crops on his return to the farming life. His introduction and text describes his artistic and emotional response to the land, and his own history, as well as the extraordinary portraits and designs he carved into the land.
