This book has become my friend that I visit over and over. The author lost his own son and has experienced the pain himself. His words tell of the anguish and pain that we feel now, but also tells us that not only are we "normal" in feeling all this, but that someday there will be an end to it and we will get better. His Christian hope shows us that God is really with us in all the despair and loss and is grieving with us. The messages in this book and my clinging to God are my lifelines in this heart wrenching journey of grief I am on.

Grieving a death in your family
Of all the books I have read re: the loss of a family member or close friend, this is the most comprehensive I have encountered. We all grieve in uniquely different ways, but there are some emotions and actions that are universal. This book speaks to all of us, across the board.
