good resource
I liked the book because it has a lot of details, it's thorough (even too much sometimes). It does however have lots of gorey pictures and X-rated photographs of effects of diseases. It has an exhaustive list of microbes and diseases. I don't agree on some stuff the author thinks of some things, but overall, I think this is a great microbio resource.

Very readable
This book was my general microbiology course text. I found it very readable. It included some interesting related topic articles, and some helpful study questions.
