I stumbled upon the Sister Joan series when seeking in another bookseller's site. Ms. Black has created an engaging and very human central character and the plots are fine too. It would be great to see more of the other characters developed a bit more and perhaps have a sister or two become embroiled in her excapades.
A vow of Sanctity, takes Sister Joan to the highlands for a retreat in an old monastic cave. Of course a murder has taken place and by accident she is involved( after all she finds the body!) Ms. Black's descriptions of the highlands and the monks' island sanctuary is most inviting.
