Currently the major focus of interest is on the shoulder joint which presents the greatest challenge. After the knee, the shoulder is the most commonly scoped joint. Most orthopaedic surgeons, however, have yet to achieve sufficient technical expertise to confidently perform arthroscopic surgery for all shoulder disorders identified as suitable for arthroscopic treatment.
