With such a rapid pace of change in technology and media, it's difficult to write and publish a book quickly so that it's still current and relevant by the time it reaches the readers. In my case, Dizard was required reading for a college course and while the material provided some historical perspective, much of the ideas and forecasts the author shares are outdated. I would recommend others read The World is Flat before purchasing this book.
