This book gives understanding how Corrie Ten Boom was prepared for her prison term in a German concentration camp. Also an interesting read, but shows many different things that happened in her life to prepare her, not only for prison, but also her mission trips as a "Tramp for the Lord." (the sequel to "The Hiding Place.")
Really very interesting!

Discipleship at it's highest
As with any of Corrie Ten Boom's book, you are going to find that Christ is at the forefront. She takes everyday occurrences and show how God can be found and/or interjected into all.

book illustrates a life well lived
Simply and humbly written, yet this book shows that the life lived by Corrie Ten Boom and her family was a preparation for their incredible trials in Germany's concentration camps. Far from sheltered, the Ten Boom life was full of learning language and music, teaching the young, foster care and socializing with others who may or may not have shared their faith.
Cynical readers today may find this life hopelessly Victorian and archaic but the faith of the Ten Boom family reveals a Christian faith that loves beauty and learning, generosity and forgiveness that makes today's Christian culture seem hopelessly commericialized and compromised.
God help us recapture the simple faith of Corrie Ten Boom.
