A Good Mountain Mystery!
I enjoy pretty much everything McManus produces, from columns, to books, to plays. Avalanche kept me intrigued but I have to say it was a little confusing for this 'flatlander' to follow. Although Pat always does a wonderful job of allowing the reader to use their imagination to personalize characters and props, while reading this book I realized that my 'mountain imagination' is limited to my experiences in climbing stairs. I had to re-read some passages three or four times before I could get water to flow downhill, get a skier to follow the laws of gravity, or sort out scenario from sarcasm.
