Jane the Heroine
This is the first book in this series that I have read. Although it started out slow, it improved further on. Don't expect a mystery in the Agatha Christie vein; the crimes are secondary to such Jane-Austen-esque considerations as romance and fashion. Still, it is fun to see Miss Austen as a heroine out of one of her own novels, though I suspect the historical Jane too genteel to reproduce, as the author does, Mrs. Tibbet's vulgarities.
