...O'Brian is known for the depth of his wonderfully crafted stories amid ships. However, this one is set mainly on land but please don't let that put you off. If, like me, you love the characters, Aubrey, Maturin, Pullins, Bondon et al, then this finely drawn exposition of financial dealings will have you gripped.
