I was pleasantly surprised to find a different treatment of a murder mystery about a typical "outside the system loner" coming in to solve a case the police can't. Having the main character and his foe very much alike in personality and character, yet on opposite sides of the fence was intriguing. This book takes a little while to get started, but it's really worth sticking it out. Once I was hooked, I couldn't wait to see how the give and take would play out. The plot twists were interesting and unpredictable. This was my first Perry novel and I definitely will be trying another in the future.
