Finally! McMurtry's long-awaited conclusion to The Last Picture Show and Texasville. Peopled with their funny, sad, and wonderful characters, Duane's Depressed follows those who have survived into their twilight years. This is the work of a powerful, mature artist with a deep understanding of the human condition. Utterly unsentimental, often hilarious, sometimes tragic and shocking, and yet full of hope, Duane's Depressed is one of McMurtry's strongest novels ever, a major work by any standard.

The 2nd best book of the "The Last Picture Show" pentology, right up there next to the first book itself. (Some reviewers call it a trilogy, but it's five books total, "The Last Picture Show," plus four continuing sequels--Texasville, Duane's Depressed, When the Light Goes, and Rhino Ranch..)
You gotta read them all! In that order.
