This biography follows Admiral Marc Mitscher from his early days at the Naval Academy and through his days in two world wars. He particpated in many missions in the east during World War II, including the Battle of Midway, the Marianas, Leyte gulf, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Following the war he served as Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Air) and finally as Commander, Atlantic Fleet. He was the first aviator to become an admiral and fill combat commands.
