"An orphan and a bastard, Jamie grew up tough enough to handle almost anything. He survived foreign prisons, smugglers, pirates, gunrunners, and shark attacks. But what he finds in the quiet town of Hawkes Harbor is enough to drive him insane and change his life forever."
This is a vulgar novel designed to appeal to a crude sense of humor. Jamie is a likable lead. His early years are interesting, his mothers death and the nun stealing a gold cross right off his neck, make him a rather sad creation. The reader does feel extremely bad for poor Jamie and up until the vampire arrives was an okay book. The vampire looking for his lost love and kidnapping her modern day double is a watered down take on the Dark Shadows storyline. There's even a doctor ,Lousia ,who is trying to cure him. A lot of the plot has been seen before. The character of Jamie is slutty and likes to use smutty language especially when talking about romance with his vampire boss. Basically if a person likes anything with a vampire they will like this. The book offers nothing new and the chapters come across as choppy. There is no description in the text.
