A woman of privelege and means must flee to America when her father is falsely imprisoned. She works as a seamstress and then dress designer to be able to help clear her father's name. She fears the secret of her true identity will jeopardize her father's chances at freedom, if it should come out. The characters are interesting and her romance with Carter Danby is sweet.
