I fell under the spell of Dr Fell (great rhyming opportunity) as I read this classic locked-room murder. It's wonderfully atmospheric, full of dark supernatural undercurrents, and yet it's a very honest locked-room plot. No wonder Dickson Carr is acknowledged as a master of the genre. I'd love to read it again.
