I have hit a snag on my quest to read all of Ian Rankin's novels. I am up to #13. (I am not sure about what his collection of short stories, "Beggar's Banquet" are: some seem to be college essays.) "Resurrection Men" is predictable and throughly boring until pages 300+. That is way too long a wait to get interested in a book. It would help if Rankin's protagonist had a sense of humor. I read Rankin and then I read a novel written by Rankin's fellow Scotsman, Philip Kerr. Kerr is so much farther is his quest to be an interesting and profound writer.
