Linda Jaivin has a real problem with dynamic characters. As in, she doesn't seem to know what they are. The book was a fun read, sure, but the conclusion left me quite dissapointed. I feel like the author is probably going for the "not what you expect, not a typical novel" feel, but in doing so, she chooses a conclusion that just upsets the reader! The book stinks of attempted original writing, but it goes too far and ends up with a bad plotline. I really enjoyed the voice of the writer, and the concept of the book, but I was left with a sour taste in my mouth at the end. I'd recommend it to someone, but purely as a beach read.
