I am the Number One fan of the Sir John Fielding ? Blind Magistrate of Bow Street ? series of mystery stories. We get to know Jeremy Proctor, the magistrate's right-hand man, as a young boy to manhood in a series of 11 books. From a historical perspective, you get to live life from the mid 1700s to 1800s through the eyes of richly developed characters that are real and endearing. And included is a craftily woven mystery that reflects the culture and many possibilities of conflict of that era in England. Could it get any better? Not in my book! The author is now deceased so we know this is the definitive series. If you like history and mystery and great characters, I highly recommend this series. Give yourself an extra treat and start the series from the beginning with the book Blind Justice.

I enjoy the main character, the Blind Beak, and Jeremy. I wish there were more books in this series. I've read them all. They are all equally good.
