The chapter on the functions of the nucleus, mitochondria and the endoplasmic reticulum have been reorganized to account for the increased understanding of the roles of these organelles. There is also new emphasis given to the biochemistry of environmental hazards which includes a treatment of viral carcinogenesis. There is also a discussion of the results of recombinant DNA technology in the diagnosis of genetic disorders.
