I read this book by the young author when it first came out and it surprised me. It is difficult to describe the plot which involves a bare-knuckles fighter, arms dealers and a drug lord -- it seems to me now that Dogs owes something to the work of Cormac McCarthy; in particular to Blood Meridian. I expected to hear more from Benedict over the years but he has been disappointingly quiet.
