An excellent introduction to the "Harry Potter" series which sets the scene in a very interesting and enthralling manner. It explains everything from Harry's life to his acceptance at Hogwarts School and the subsequent events that follow during his adventures with his companions Ron and Hermoine. It is an excellent book which is extremely difficult to put down once you start reading it, and easily captivates the reader. I would recommend it to anyone.

Draws you into the series
I bought this for my wife for Christmas. She enjoyed it (as she had the movies) and said that the images you picture in your head from reading is most times better than what they actually show in the movies. This first book does a good job of pulling the reader into the 'Potter' series.
