Lewis's Space Trilogy is a brilliant work, richly imaginative, a gripping story with deep themes. I rank it with Lord of the Rings as a must-read. I think this one, the last in the series, is my favorite. It can be read on its own, but do yourself a favor and read the others first. You will appreciate this one even more.
