The number of investigations available to help in the diagnosis of paediatric renal disease has grown markedly in the past decade, much of this growth being in the area of urinary tract imaging. It indicates clearly those types of investigations which are available from district general hospitals. Where special investigations are needed, outline details are provided to assist with the decision about referring to paediatric nephrological or urological services.
