I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the movie, so it stands to reason I would enjoy the book as well. William Goldman is an imaginative author.

Very good read
I enjoyed the movie "The Princess Bride" and
decided to try the book. I was not disappointed. It is a very unusual treatment
of a fairy tale that could be enjoyed by both
adults and older children. I especially loved
the way the author occasionally put into
parentheses his own comments about the
original story published years ago and his
reasons for deleting certain "boring" parts.
It was funny, romantic, action-filled and
dramatic all at once. I enjoyed it very much.

Well worth it even if you have read the movie!
My fiance and I live a great distance from each other and regularly read aloud to each other in order to share the experience. We have read the Harry Potter series in the past - but I have to say that it is not nearly as much fun as reading this book out loud. Is the book very different from the movie? No - but it does provide a little more insight and a WHOLE lot more humor. It is just plain fun, and I can't wait to read it to my kids!
