Mary Stewart is such a good novelist, and I had great hopes for this book. However, in my opinion it fell flat, lacking depth. The loose ends were too tidily tied up; the resolution too convenient.
It did contain her usual lush descriptions of setting. It reminded me so much of the peace I feel at the shore.
I did give it 2 stars; it is Mary Stewart after all, and the premise had promise.
