My edition had a pretty cool looking monster. It looked like a lizard with antlers and had two people trapped in its claws. That was the best part of the book. In this rather uninteresting love triangle, there is an evil coin. Okay it had potential. How many evil coins are out there. Where I fault the book is with the characters.
The older, but suave antique dealer is an interesting person to read. The married couple is were I had a difficult time reading. Neither of them are very likeable and I spent most of the book waiting for the cool looking monster to show up and eat them. Its bad when the lead characters are so hated.
This book deals alot with furniture and design. There are pages of desription concerning some old chair or a gold trimmed wall paper. Yeah, this horror novel has a lot of interesting trivia. Unfortunately there is no suspense.
