Carrie might have been the first book written by the King of Horror, but it was far from being the first book I ever read by him. I was already a huge fan of the classic 1976 horror movie with Sissy Spacek, so I was psyched to read it! Yes! I said it! I am a 90s brat! Anyhoo, the best thing about this book is knowing that my favorite movie adaptation was the most faithful, plus the book, of course, provided more character development while featuring rare, exciting differences that no movie can match. Great example: If you think Carrie wreaks terrifying revenge at the prom, wait till you see what she does to her entire town! My best reason to recommend this book: If you are looking for one of the scariest, most nightmarish novels from the imagination of the King of Horror, do NOT miss Carrie... unless you want her to use her powers on YOU!!

Don't laugh, you might be next!
Carrie is the outcast, the girl who everyone makes fun of. But when she finds out she has telekinetic powers, she figures out that they can help her be liked, and out from under her mother's oppressive reign.
This book also has an epilogue, which is very interesting.
