His talent was unbounded, a raw force that commanded attention and respect. His death was tragic - a violent homage to the power of his voice. His legacy is indomitable - remaining vibrant and alive. Here now, newly discovered, are Tupac's most honest and intimate thoughts conveyed through the pure art of poetry - a mirror into his enigmatic life and its many contradictions. Written in his own hand at the age of nineteen, they embrace his spirit, his energy...and his ultimate message of hope.

Seller's Description:
Collectible-Fine. Book Squarish octavo, hardcover, fine, as new, in fine brown pictorial dj. 151 pp. Clean, unmarked. first printing. This collection of more than 100 poems that honestly and artfully confront topics ranging from poverty and motherhood to Van Gogh and Mandela is presented in Tupac Shakur's own handwriting on one side of the page, with a typed version on the opposite side.
This book afforded me the knowledge of getting to know the real compassionate Tupac. He always portrayed himself as a thug but he really was a soft rose when not in public. The young man was a genius whom probably could have been another great poet. He was also multi-talented and really cared about others. After reading this book of heart felt poetry, I had a new found respect for this lonely ROSE THAT GREW from CONCRETE. Beautiful thoughts from a brilliant mind that ended much too soon.
